Proverbs 22:1 “A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold.”
Proverbs 3:3, 4 “Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them on the tablet of your heart.” Verse #4 “Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man.”
A short time ago I went to a wedding that was 5 hours away. At first I thought it was too far and too much Bible college work. Just as I was thinking, I received a phone call. The call was from the groom. I had been mentoring him for over 10 years during his young adult years. He said that I much to do with his walk with the Lord and that this mentoring had allowed him to make the decision to be a missionary to a third world country. He mentioned that, if it was possible, he would like for me to be one of a few people to pray over him at the end of the marriage ceremony. He said, “you never got tired of pouring yourself into me and I want people to know who you were.” I can’t mention the name of the country to protect his identity. We sometimes wonder if our efforts for the Kingdom are producing anything. But God says, don’t grow tired of doing well because in due time God’s glory will be magnified.
Galatians 6:9 “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
